Description

Supporting Fair, Calm, and Solution-Focused Conversations

Conflict in relationships can be overwhelming, especially when emotions run high and communication breaks down. My mediation service provides a structured, neutral space where all parties are supported in expressing concerns, hearing each other clearly, and working towards fair compromises.

This service is designed for couples, family members, co-parents, and other personal relationships (excluding workplace conflicts). Using a facilitative and transformative mediation approach, I help guide conversations towards constructive solutions while ensuring a respectful and balanced dialogue.

 In-person and online service
Structured process: Totalling over 6 hours mediation sessions

What to Expect from Mediation

Step 1: Free Initial Consultation (15 minutes)
A brief phone or in-person discussion to determine if mediation is the right approach and to outline the process.

Step 2: Individual Pre-Mediation Session (1 hour per person)
Each party has a private session to discuss their perspective, understand the mediation process, and prepare for the joint discussion. A pre-mediation contract is provided to set clear expectations and boundaries.

Step 3: Joint Mediation Sessions (2 x 2 hour session, additional session can be added if required)

  • Opening statement: Reinforcing clarity, focus, and ensuring emotional regulation.
  • Key discussion points: Identifying concerns and working towards fair compromise and solutions.
  • Managing high emotions: Conflict is natural, and emotions are valid. As a trained counsellor, I will intervene when needed to re-focus the discussion while ensuring emotions are acknowledged in a constructive way.
  • Session summary: If a resolution isn’t reached in the first session, a summary is provided to allow space for reflection before continuing.

Step 4: Post-Mediation Summary
At the end of the mediation process, I provide a written summary of what was discussed, including agreements, unresolved points, and any next steps.
